The Global Freight Summit embodies DP World’s ambition to establish a forum for assembling influential minds from the worldwide freight forwarding and supply chain sectors. This gathering unites industry pioneers and the global freight community to address urgent challenges and concerns. With the overarching theme of “MAKING THE FUTURE SUPPLY CHAIN A REALITY,” the summit aims to delve into collaborative efforts among all stakeholders to tackle the sector’s significant challenges head-on.

This is the first event I worked on after joining GPJ UK. I helped with generating ideas for the pavilion, DFA and sports activations. I also worked on the user journeys and testings for the sports activations.

Pavilion Activations


Interactive Wall:
The flow of the content and interaction on the interactive wall tells the story of the future of supply chain logistics and freight forwarding.
As guests move along the wall, they are shown how DP World bring forward new possibilities to discover, connect their customers to what’s next and how they think forward to move further.
The interactive wall will use a transparent OLED display as its main material and employ visuals to exhibit the story. In addition, there will be sensors and physical attachments used to enhance its interaction experience.

Café Projection:
Our guests are offered a beverage from a curated menu of stories DP World has to tell showing how supply chains affect everyday life.
At first glance, the café is a relaxed conversational environment but once a guest places an order the café space comes to life. Animated characters and infrastructure takes over the shelves, animating your orders journey from producer to your cup whilst the server prepares your drink.
In this section (as they are waiting for their food/beverage), guests will see an animated piece that depicts the journey of their product.
There is a black box with 3 buttons assembled over the bar counter and each triggers different content when manually pushed by the bar staff. The attractor state displays the menu and once guests order their drink, bar staff pushes the button to reveal the animated content journey of a drink.

DFA Activations


The Alliance Club:
We create an elite, luxury area that gives premium status for those that can enter, and creates intrigue for those who cannot.
Inside: Members will receive the VIP treatment with complimentary drinks upon arrival and food service. It will be a sophisticated and private venue where they can connect in person with fellow premium members for unparalleled in person networking opportunities while at GFS.
Outside: An opportunity to display content that explains the benefits, showcases the members directory (the guest list). A lobby style area that showcase the benefits of joining and a sign up desk with a dedicated representative.

Members Meeting Points:
In various locations around the F&B area we create DFA digital networking points where you can “meet” your potential fellow DFA directory members and hear their stories of how opting into a premium membership has helped grow their business. This can be touch-screen based or use web AR to scan images to bring a story to life.
The benefit of the premium membership is access to closed member chats – we create a networking link at these points for potential premium members to book in an in-person meet up with premium DFA members who are at the event.

Premium View:
We create a series of AR enhanced graphic info artworks that will decorate the F&B area, promoting each of the benefits of the premium membership.
Each 2D artwork can represent a standard member benefit but entice the delegate to view the premium enhanced artwork. When the AR is activated, it brings the enhanced visuals and the premium benefits to life in 3D.

Tangible Toolbox:
We create an interactive physical ‘tool’ box activation that allows attendees to discover the benefits via AR content.
Delegates are invited to pick up the ‘tools’ and hold in front of a large screen. A camera facing the guest on the top of the screen tracks & reacts to the tool surface, activating the explainer content that comes alive in front of them.

Bringing Benefits to Life:
We would like to explain tools and the advantages of joining the DFA in a succinct and engaging way using motion. By utilising dynamic visuals, animated infographics, and engaging transitions, this medium can concisely illustrate how membership translates into tangible benefits for freight forwarders.

DFA Sign-up Station & New Member Celebration:
Making it easy to sign up and also celebrate sign ups of new premium members. We create a digital celebration moment that causes a reaction across the whole arena.

Sport Activations


VR Golf Experience:
Feel the excitement of the game through a VR headset.
Featuring at GFS, demonstrating a DP World sports partnership.
this experience demonstrates ”Smart logistics to a Tee”.
Additionally – a 360 camera could be camera built into capture the action, creating shareable replays of your gameplay on social media.
A leaderboard tracks and displays attendee’s attempts and prize opportunities given for the attendees with the quickest reaction.

Fast Cricket:
Feel the excitement of the game through a speed challenge that will test your reactions.
Planned to feature at Dubai Fitness Challenge – this experience is a “fast cricket” experience, a play on panna football, where visitors go into a cage and hit lit up targets an bat and an oversized cricket ball.
Additionally – a 360 camera could be camera built into capture the action, creating shareable replays of your gameplay on social media.
A leaderboard tracks and displays attendee’s attempts and prize opportunities given for the attendees with the quickest reaction.

Table Top Racing:
Remote control replicas of McLaren cars with DP World branding race against each other on scaled down versions of the F1 race track.
A customised route through a city that highlights key moments in the supply chain.
Leaderboard to enter into a prize draw to win McLaren hospitality tickets at a grand prix.
