About Envestnet

Envestnet is an American financial technology corporation specializing in wealth management technology and products for financial advisors and institutions. They offer a comprehensive platform that includes financial planning tools, data analytics, and a range of wealth solutions. Their services are designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial advisors, RIAs, exchange partners, financial institutions, and asset managers. By integrating advanced technology with financial services, Envestnet enables professionals to provide tailored investment strategies, optimise portfolio management, and deliver comprehensive financial advice to their clients, ultimately transforming the way financial services are managed and delivered.

This a side project I have been working on in collaboration with the creative department. We worked together on the ideation and interaction. Then I developed the interactive piece with Touchdesigner and Kinect. Envestnet traditionally relies on printed signage for events. Our proposal aims to introduce digital signage to future events, showcasing its interactive potential. By leveraging digital signage, we intend to elevate event experiences, engaging attendees in innovative ways and demonstrating the value of incorporating interactive technology into Envestnet’s event strategies.

Design 1: Trail
Trail presents a captivating interactive experience designed to engage guests as they navigate through a tunnel adorned with a long screen. As guests traverse the space, a depth camera integrated with Kinect technology detects their positions and marks their movement by illuminating pixels in Envestnet’s vibrant gradient colours along their path. Each guest leaves behind a trail of illuminated pixels, which remain on the screen even after they have moved past. Over time, these individual trails intertwine and converge, gradually building out the Envestnet logo or symbol. This mesmerising visual representation symbolises the collective journey and interconnectedness of guests, culminating in the formation of the complete Envestnet image. Through this immersive experience, guests are not only participants but also contributors to the creation of a unified representation of the Envestnet brand, fostering a sense of connection and community within the event space.

Design 2: Peter Pan
“Peter Pan” offers a dynamic and enchanting interactive experience within the tunnel environment. As guests move through the space, pixels emerge on the screen in response to their presence, mirroring their movements in real-time. However, unlike the persistent trails of the previous design, these pixels fade away as soon as the guests move out of the camera’s detection area. This ephemeral nature of the pixels creates a mesmerising echoing effect, where each guest’s movement is briefly immortalised before dissipating into the background. The screen becomes a canvas for fleeting moments of interaction, capturing the essence of Peter Pan’s fleeting adventures and evoking a sense of whimsy and wonder. Through this immersive experience, guests are invited to participate in a magical journey where their presence leaves a transient mark on the digital landscape, encouraging exploration and play within the event space.
